Latest Club: Welcome Blue Mountains

We welcomed the newest affiliated club The Blue Mountains Dragon Boat Club (aka Mountain Dragons) in June. The Club will be joining the Western Region and paddle on Wentworth Falls Lake.

The club was born from the concept by the Rotary Club of Katoomba to hold a Dragon Boat Festival in the mountains. Since early 2020 a small project team from the Rotary Club quickly established their identity with an independent committee taking on the task of creating a new club.

The aim of the Mountain Dragons is to provide fun, fitness and friendship for its members and to participate in the wider dragon boat community, locally, nationally and in due course, internationally. Welcome aboard! (Ha!).

Parkes Anniversary Regatta

It was a glorious day at Lake Endeavour on Sunday 30 May as the Parkes Dragon Boat Club celebrated its three year anniversary with a regatta that was attended by paddlers from Dubbo, Wagga, Orange and Forbes.

Parkes Shire Mayor, Ken Keith OAM, and Member for Orange, Phil Donato, were also present while representatives Paddle NSW were on hand to ensure the regatta was run in accordance with race requirement. Well done everyone!
