Australia Day Come & Try

Dragonboating is an addictive, fun, fast and furious sport.  Across the world today thousands of paddlers compete in various events from local social races to huge international regattas. Colour City Dragons hosted a Come & Try Day to celebrate Australia Day at Lake Canobolas and helped several newcomers try the sport.  Interested paddlers also have the chance to try  dragon boating in a fun and friendly environment and have the opportunity to talk with current paddlers to get a real feel for what is involved and what it is like to go to regattas at our regular training sessions on Lake Canobolas – Saturdays 7.45am, Tuesdays 5.45pm and Thursdays 5.45pm. Look for the orange shirts!

Canberra Regatta

Well done to all western region paddlers who competed in Canberra  recently. Waratahs Black included Colour City,  Bathurst,  Mudgee,  Forbes, and Dubbo paddlers who raced in 2km and 200m events. Great to see the fun and friendly nature of these combined crews.  And a big congratulations to the Western Region State team who won every heat – Women’s, Mixed and Open 200m and won Open and Mixed 2km.
